Are you an experienced Office Manager with a background in the logistics and shipping sector? Our client, based at the London Gateway site, is seeking a highly skilled professional with at least five years of experience at the Office Manager level, ideally within the logistics and shipping sector.


Key Responsibilities:

Communicating effectively with department heads to ensure smooth operations.

  • Relaying import information and policy updates from upper management.

  • Implementing initiatives to enhance team productivity and engagement.

  • Managing administrative tasks, office supplies, and inventory.

  • Supervising and coordinating administrative staff.

  • Developing and implementing office policies and procedures for efficiency.

  • Ensuring optimal use of technology and resources to streamline operations.

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience communicating with UK and overseas agents via phone and email.

  • Familiarity with FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load) cargo movements.

  • Proficiency in using in-house systems for data entry and management.

  • Ability to advise customs on shipment updates and handle customs clearance.

  • Knowledge of general ocean import processes, including releases, deliveries, and billing.

  • Understanding of the Brexit transition and its impact on customs procedures.

  • Proficiency with tools such as Destin8, CNS, and Sequoia.
